    Very nice, very clean design. I like it a lot!

    Hi,

    A sentence is still in italian, in the english version :
    [fixed :)]

    comments.php, line 67

    Thank you for releasing this theme (which license?)
    I’m translating it in french, i’ll advice you if I succeed.

  • ChefGaby July 18th, 2008 at 14:22 #

    Hey Dwit,
    Please download the theme again. I have fixed the translation.
    The comments.php file was taken from a client of mine so I forgot some words in it.
    It should be ok now. Thank you for telling me.

  • dwit July 18th, 2008 at 15:55 #

  • dwit July 18th, 2008 at 17:27 #

    Thank YOU

    Wich licence did you choose to release your art ?

    chears

  • ChefGaby July 18th, 2008 at 17:29 #

    You can do anything you like with it as long as you don’t sell it.

  • ChefGaby July 19th, 2008 at 15:04 #

    Open the sidebar.php file with a text editor and before the closing of the sidebar div add this code:

    <div class=”box1″>
    <div class=”box1text”>
    </div> <!– BOX1 TEXT –>
    </div> <!– BOX1 –>

    You can change 1 with 2 or 3. Depending on what color you want.

  • WP Diva July 19th, 2008 at 08:04 #

    Your theme is licensed under GPL? Then, you cannot place a no sale restriction on the use of your theme.

    4. Conveying Verbatim Copies.

    You may convey verbatim copies of the Program’s source code as you receive it, in any medium, provided that you conspicuously and appropriately publish on each copy an appropriate copyright notice; keep intact all notices stating that this License and any non-permissive terms added in accord with section 7 apply to the code; keep intact all notices of the absence of any warranty; and give all recipients a copy of this License along with the Program.

    You may charge any price or no price for each copy that you convey, and you may offer support or warranty protection for a fee. (Emphasis added.)

    Now, the right thing for people to do would be to not sell your hard work, but it’s certainly not an enforceable rule.

    This is just a head’s up. The folks at WP tend to look at themes as straight code and don’t realize the creativity and artistic value of the graphics/CSS coding that goes into each individual theme and it’s the reason why some WP theme designers don’t agree with the GPL/GPL compatible license rule.

  • paul July 19th, 2008 at 14:46 #

    Is there any way to add another sidebar box with its own catagory of links iside it?

  • paul July 19th, 2008 at 16:44 #

    Thanks GlamourGaby

    I did that already but I have the problem where I cannot open a new box for a separate category – for example if I want to add a new box for Premium Sites and one for Free Sites they both end up in the same box, that is they automatically default to the box containing the link:

    I think the problem is that no sidebars are defined.

    I’ll try and fix it using wordpresses recomendations and see how it goes.

    Thanks again and thanks for the great theme.

  • ChefGaby July 19th, 2008 at 16:47 #

    Could you supply a link?

  • chics July 20th, 2008 at 03:43 #

    I love the look of this layout and planning to put it for my online shopping blog. the thing is, it’s not widget friendly. any chance to make it a widget friendly?

  • ChefGaby July 20th, 2008 at 03:52 #

    The next version will be widget ready.

  • chics July 20th, 2008 at 04:00 #

    Thank you!

  • chocoluv July 20th, 2008 at 20:26 #

    i’ve installed it on my blog, but it’s broken.
    i don’t know what’s wrong with the theme, but the images on the themes does not appear.

    :-(

    since i’m using linux, i didn’t upload it via ftp. i used file manager on my cpanel, and i upload it one by one. did i miss something?

  • zhutou July 21st, 2008 at 03:53 #

    nice!And it’s suitable for girls.

  • ChefGaby July 21st, 2008 at 03:55 #

    @chocoluv
    You have to upload all the images from the theme here:
    http://chocoluv.elzan.com/wp-content/themes/dum-dum/images/

  • Pablo July 21st, 2008 at 11:53 #

    Hi,

    We’ve tried this theme, we like it very much, it’s exactly what we were looking for, nice and clean.

    Unfortunately, the right column seems to be broken for some urls, when we’ve tried to activate the theme in our site. In the wordpress site, you can see that too, in the preview, here: http://wp-themes.com/dum-dum/

    Here you are the broken thing: http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/9428/imagen3ma5.png

    Did you know about that? could that be fixable? we’ve tried several browsers, none of them works.

    Anyway thank you very much, it’s a great theme, exactly what we wanted, if that can’t be fixed, we will hate to search for another one :(

    Regards,
    Pablo

  • ChefGaby July 21st, 2008 at 12:18 #

    I fixed the theme Pablo. Please download the new version from the post above.
    Thanks for pointing out the problem.

  • Pablo July 21st, 2008 at 12:30 #

    Wow, that was a fast answer, thank you very much, we’ll try again with the fixed version.

    Thanks!
    Pablo

  • pouet July 22nd, 2008 at 06:46 #

    thx
    pouet

  • ChefGaby July 22nd, 2008 at 06:59 #

    @Pouet
    You can add this code in the file footer.php
    < ?php wp_register(); ?>

  • Pablo July 22nd, 2008 at 07:28 #

    Hi!

    We finally managed to use your really great theme, in our site, but we have a question about unordered lists.

    It seems like the litle black point falls over the side line, you can see that here:

    http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/1394/imagen5sh3.png

    We are two people here, and we have a bet about that, my friend thinks it’s a mistake that needs to be fixed, it should be moved to the right.

    But actually, given the obvious quality of your work, and given the fact that I don’t think that’s ‘ugly’, I think you made those on purpose that way, over the line.

    Sorry if we ask too much about a free theme, we are willing to pay/donate/whatever if that’s necesary.

    So what’s it gonna be? a bug or a feature? :)

    Thanks!
    Pablo

  • ChefGaby July 22nd, 2008 at 08:01 #

    Its a featured bug :)
    I never use lists in my posts.
    Add this to the css:

    .post ul, .post ol {
    padding-left: 25px;
    }

  • Pablo July 22nd, 2008 at 08:32 #

    Damm it, I guess my friend was right!

    Anyway, thanks again :)

  • dwit July 22nd, 2008 at 11:01 #

    Thank you pouet, I’ll try to fix it.

    Gaby, when will you release the next version ‘widget ready’, just to know if I translate the version 1.2 or if I wait.

  • ChefGaby July 22nd, 2008 at 12:02 #

    I think in about 2-3 weeks. I have some other projects at the moment plus I would like to release the photo blog theme before I release the widget ready theme.

  • Sandrine July 22nd, 2008 at 15:09 #

    I can’t wait for the next version with ‘widget ready’ is ready! I really love you theme but I was already looking for another one because of it isn’t widget ready. But now I’ll just wait!

  • ChefGaby July 22nd, 2008 at 15:12 #

    I released this theme like this to see the interest it gains.
    Since so many people are interested in a new version I will try to hurry the new version.
    Thank you all for your interest and feedback.
    Expect more glamorous themes from me in the future :D

  • Sandrine July 22nd, 2008 at 15:13 #

    Oh that would be great! I really like your design! Keep up the good work (Y)!!

  • H July 25th, 2008 at 17:24 #

    What a phenomenal theme! I’m new to wordpress, so I’m assuming I’ll figure out a lot of stuff in the future, like how to add an image to the header, or alter the blogroll (probably a basic dashboard thing) but I’m BLOWN AWAY by how great this theme is in its look and can’t wait for the widget-ready version.

    I would gladly purchase a version with greater flexibility.

    Thanks,
    H

  • neekey July 26th, 2008 at 02:17 #

    It is really beautiful!Thank you!

  • Ron July 27th, 2008 at 22:05 #

    Heya GlamourGaby :-), thanks for your beautiful template. I am currently messing a bit around with WP, get a bit more aquainted to it’n stuff.

    Any clue about that? If i click on ‘Widgets’ -> i’ll get a message ‘Es wurde keine Sidebar definiert’ what means sth. like ‘there is no sidebar defined’. Then some blabla, that the theme needs to be changed to support Widgets …

    Erm – any hints ;-)

  • Raleigh July 28th, 2008 at 03:27 #

    @Ron
    GlamourGaby hat doch schon gesagt, dass die aktuelle Version keine Widgets unterstützt und das in den nächsten Wochen kommt. ;-)

    Obviously the theme doesn’t support widgets, although a lot of theme databases claim it would. So I was a little confused at first. I’m looking forward to the widget-ready version, too. It’s such a light and friendly theme.

  • ChefGaby July 28th, 2008 at 06:49 #

    Widgets are not currently supported.
    But they will be eventually :)

  • Ron July 28th, 2008 at 09:25 #

    @Raleigh
    Asche auf mein Haupt, manchmal sieht man den Wald vor lauter Bäumen nicht ;-) – yupp, einige Datenbanken schreiben dies. Danke für die Klärung :-).

    @GlamourGaby
    Thank you for your kind answer :-). Yes, would be fine to have the option for widgets. Anyway – Dum-Dum rocks!

  • Yuri July 30th, 2008 at 10:29 #

    nice job! =)

  • ram July 30th, 2008 at 12:51 #

  • ChefGaby August 1st, 2008 at 16:22 #

    Thank you Maxi. I really appreciate it.
    I have put your version for download too.

  • qiain August 3rd, 2008 at 21:42 #

    hey guys

    I have translate this theme in chinese include simple And traditional chinese

    and I have change somewhere in this theme

    email to me I send you this version

  • ian August 4th, 2008 at 00:33 #

    Here are 2 simple steps to enable widget support for this theme:

    1. Insert the following code on a new line after “” in sidebar.php

    2. Create a new file in the themes directory called “functions.php” and add the following code:

    ”,
    ‘after_widget’ => ‘‘,
    ‘before_title’ => ”,
    ‘after_title’ => ”,
    ));

    ?>

  • smartkahuna August 4th, 2008 at 01:05 #

    sorry, i don’t see where in sidebar.php to add new code or what it should be

    can you re write those instructions?

  • Maxi August 4th, 2008 at 05:43 #

    What’s about blockquotes in comments? See here: http://dolcepixel.com/themes/2008/01/06/post-with-links-and-paragraphs/#comment-5

    This is not the optimum. ;)

  • Raleigh August 4th, 2008 at 06:14 #

    The “postmetadata” line has some problems. I don’t see why it expands like this but it doesn’t look very nice.

    http://img60.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dumdumot1.png

    Shouldn’t be too difficult to fix that or make it look better.

  • Penny August 4th, 2008 at 19:11 #

    I love the theme! My wish list if you’re looking for any more feedback is widgets and 3 columns. Thanks again!

  • stalyn August 6th, 2008 at 13:00 #

    can we get a widget ready theme please.

  • Maxi August 6th, 2008 at 14:31 #

    A little tip at GlamourGaby: Put an PayPal donation button on your site. ;)

  • ian August 6th, 2008 at 15:23 #

    seems like my earlier post got munched. I’ve zipped up a widgetised version of the dum-dum theme.

  • ChefGaby August 7th, 2008 at 17:50 #

    I’ve added the Simple and the Traditional Chinese translation of the theme.

    Ian even widgetized the theme for me :) yayyyy.
    Thank you Ian. I am a hard core wordpress user, I just edit the files.

    All the new files can be found in the post above.

  • ian August 8th, 2008 at 09:23 #

    Hi GlamourGaby

    No worries – glad to help.

    Can you change the link so that it points directly to the post? The blog is family related, therefore any technology related snippets are hidden.

    The post url is http://www.perrinfamily.co.uk/…widget-support

  • Dean August 9th, 2008 at 11:21 #

    Great theme – thanks for sharing.

  • Henriette August 10th, 2008 at 15:51 #

    Hi GG
    We love your theme and have been using it our blog, but something seems to be broken with the archive

    http://pinupbalm.com/blog

    when you click on the archives the entire theme is breaking up, Any advice

    Thanks again for sharing – you are pure design genius!

  • ChefGaby August 10th, 2008 at 16:01 #

    I love what you did with the theme. Very Nice.

    I see you have don’t have the theme in the original directory but rather in the “default” directory.
    Copy the theme in the directory “dum-dum” and activate it from the admin panel. Don’t just copy the theme files in the directory “default”.

  • Henriette August 10th, 2008 at 16:24 #

    okay you are a super duper genius, when I went into my default directory I saw that I had duplicates of the files which was causing the problem as well. Thanks again for such an amazing delicious design – you’ve made my life all that more marrrrrrrrrvelous!

    Any chance on getting widget support soon ;)

  • ChefGaby August 10th, 2008 at 16:28 #

    Download the latest theme version from this post. It has widget support.

  • Pete August 10th, 2008 at 23:28 #

    I would love to use the theme…and I am sure there is an easy answer to this…. how can I remove some of the nav buttons along the top and in sidebar. Some of the pages being displayed are subpages and I don’t want direct nav to them.

    Thanks in advance.

  • ChefGaby August 11th, 2008 at 12:45 #

    @Pete
    If you want the pages to only show top level links than you have to not use a widget for the box 1 and add the same code as in the header for the box 1.

  • Maxi August 12th, 2008 at 10:19 #

    I will use Dum-Dum at the point it supports blockquotes… Please, please make that to work for the next version. :)

  • ChefGaby August 12th, 2008 at 13:40 #

    It doesn’t?
    Maybe it doesn’t support blackquotes in the comments, but it does in the posts.
    See here: http://dolcepixel.com/themes/2008/03/06/article-with-quote/

  • Henriette August 12th, 2008 at 15:40 #

    Hi GG
    it’s me again – i also noticed that the blockquote wasn’t working, viewing the source the only difference I noticed was even in code view when I add the tags they do not save in the source file …any suggestions?

  • ChefGaby August 12th, 2008 at 16:32 #

    So you are saying that you add the “blockquote” tag in the article and you don’t see it in the page?
    If that is the case than its not something from the theme.
    The link from a few comments up is from an article that has blockquotes in it and it works fine.

    I don’t think I understand the problem entirely.

  • Henriette August 12th, 2008 at 16:43 #

    What happens is the image (quote) does not appear. The blue dotted line box works fine, any clues, if you go:
    http://pinupbalm.com/blog
    the July 27th entry

    Thanks!

  • ChefGaby August 12th, 2008 at 16:50 #

    Open the CSS file
    Search for .posttext blockquote {
    add: clear: both;
    The image is overlapping the quote box. this should fix it.

  • Henriette August 12th, 2008 at 17:02 #

    Thanks so much GG
    Simply Fabulous you are! You deserve some lip balm would love to send you some :)

  • chicsinred August 13th, 2008 at 02:48 #

    The widget works fine but the colours for the most of the sideboxes are only yellow, instead of mixture of the three.

    Can that be fixed?

  • ChefGaby August 13th, 2008 at 07:49 #

    There are 3 sidebars. Each one with its one color.
    Box1 is yellow wile the rest are different colors.

  • palermos August 13th, 2008 at 09:10 #

    nice theme

    i Love it so much.

  • Patricia August 14th, 2008 at 21:28 #

    Hi GlamourGaby.

    First of all, thank you for making this theme available. It is an adorable theme to use (I should know, I’m currently using it).

    I’m new to WordPress but I wanted to ask whether I would be able to add a header image to this particular theme? If so, what dimensions do I have to make it and which files do I change?

    Thank you.

  • aamir attaa August 15th, 2008 at 21:14 #

    very catchy theme…thanks

  • ChefGaby August 16th, 2008 at 12:30 #

    @Patricia, it should be 760pixels in width.

  • Maxi August 18th, 2008 at 16:00 #

    Links also aren’t showed: http://www.frumble.de/…ionen/#comment-29

    Blockquotes: Yes, in articles it works but even not in comments. When you quote others conclusion you fast want to use blockquotes.

  • ChefGaby August 18th, 2008 at 16:16 #

    Ok, ok, I’ll fix that too in a couple of days :)

  • yusuf August 19th, 2008 at 06:16 #

    couple of days before i wrote that i have this theme in turkish and i gave the link but it is deleted why ???

  • ChefGaby August 19th, 2008 at 06:34 #

    Its one thing to add your link in the footer but it another thing to delete my link, the one to this website, and put your own.
    Theme rejected.

  • ChefGaby August 19th, 2008 at 06:35 #

    Oh, and something else. Exactly after your comment there was a spam comment in turkish, image the coincidence.

  • yusuf August 19th, 2008 at 09:36 #

    it is not a spam it was just a word in Turkish for Turkish users it says this theme is available in Turkish

  • yusuf August 19th, 2008 at 09:53 #

    i didn’t delete your link it still there i double checked and
    i just added my link that is all, no more.

    do u still reject the theme ?

    i just wanted to help that is all

  • Maxi August 21st, 2008 at 07:19 #

    And a further “bug” (issue ;) ): I can’t reorder the widgets “pages”, “archive” and “links” (blogroll) in the sidebar cause they are fixed in Dum-Dum. “Pages” is always on top, archive and links always at the bottom. It would be nice if that were possible…

  • ChefGaby August 21st, 2008 at 07:20 #

    Hi Maxi. Since the theme is now widget ready, you can activate the widgets and put the pages where ever you want.

  • Maxi August 21st, 2008 at 07:46 #

    Ah, you’re right with “pages”. But the other two not, they are fixed. I even haven’t drop they into my widget box in the WP administration, they are simply there without an entry:

  • ChefGaby August 21st, 2008 at 07:49 #

    There are 3 sidebar boxes. Select the other two so you can add widgets in other boxes.

  • Maxi August 21st, 2008 at 07:49 #
  • Maxi August 21st, 2008 at 10:33 #

    OK, wonderful. But the original links widget from Dum-Dum is so splitted in two widgets as you can see on my site. One “Blogs” and one “Podcasts” how my both links categories. But this is no big thing for me.

  • Yukito August 24th, 2008 at 04:55 #

    I’d like to use this theme but also I’d like to have a header(like http://m33w-fansubs.com/)

    Thanks for this great theme (and for the french translation..)

    Mik

  • ChefGaby August 30th, 2008 at 14:55 #

    @Yukito,
    Try to put your image in the file header.php
    You’ll get it working eventually :P (hopefully)

    @Andrey,
    The number that appears under each post is the number id not the incremented number from the last post.
    Its normal that is showing like that.

    @Mick,
    I made a boo-boo with my blog about one week ago and I lost the french version.
    If someone can resend that I will upload it again.

  • Maxi September 1st, 2008 at 08:11 #

    My notes to 1.4.1:

    sidebar.php: [...] [...] -> but it’s in box 2

    For the German version I had to resize the one button image a little bit (isn’t in your 1.4.1):

    .navigation a {
    text-decoration: none;
    display: block;
    width: 133px; (-> to 133px)

    In the comments.php a translation neglect (mine):
    [...] Name

    <input type=”text” name=”email” id=”email” value=”” size=”22″ tabindex=”2″ />
    E-Mail (wird nicht veröffentlicht) [...]

    In both “required” to “erforderlich”, please. ;)

    Why do you have kicked out this (no problem but it’s only to prevent possible problems ;) ):

    h3.single_h3 {
    font-family: “Trebuchet MS”, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    font-size: 17px;
    color: #9A6A3A;
    text-align: center;
    margin: 0;
    }

    But where are my comment blockquotes? ;)

  • Yukito September 9th, 2008 at 13:04 #

    Hey guys! Its me again.

    Just wanted to report a problem(But I don’t know if this problem is caused be the theme or the plugin)

    I downloaded and activated the plugin: WordPress Guestbook Generator from: http://www.alleba.com/blog/2006/09/21/wordpress-guestbook-generator-plugin/

    The Plugin works but if I want to comment in the normal commentzone the layout does not display the images. btw the guestbook works with the commentfunction from wordpress.

    maybe somebody knows more about this?

    Ah and I know a guestbook is kinda “out” but I like this feeling of having a guestbook :D

    I love your design!

    I tried to insert my banner at: HEADER (header.php)

    /head>

    <a href=”<img src=”

    I cannot see the image. What am I doing wrong?

    Do I need to modify the CSS page also?

    Thank you in advance.

    Zurui

  • ChefGaby September 14th, 2008 at 17:11 #

    @Yukito
    I do not know that plugin.
    The code for my theme all validates so there isn’t any bad code.
    If you activate that plugin and it messes up your comments than that means the problem is from the plugin not the theme.

    @zurui
    I see you managed to put an image in your header. Nice.

  • zurui September 14th, 2008 at 17:14 #

    Yes, I did after about 5-hours of studying other blogs and looking at their code. I admire you for being able to build this theme.

    BTW, how do I remove the white space above my header?

    Again, thanks for a great theme!

  • ChefGaby September 14th, 2008 at 17:16 #

    Zurui, delete the h1 and h2 tag from header.php

  • Robbiegp September 19th, 2008 at 19:34 #

    Thank you for your lovely theme. I am new to WordPress and your theme. My question: I am using the three styles of sidebars (three different colors), but I can’t seem to arrange them such that the colors alternate. It puts all the box-1’s, followed by all the box-2’s, followed by all the box-3’s. Is there a way to alternate them: box-1, box-2, box-3, box-1, box-2, box-3, etc.?

  • ChefGaby September 19th, 2008 at 19:36 #

    If you want to do this just from the admin panel then no.
    You would have to edit sidebar.php file and create new boxes and add your content in them.

  • Robbiegp September 19th, 2008 at 19:42 #

    Thank you for your speedy response. I will try that.

  • Ajvngou September 30th, 2008 at 03:50 #

    i just use your great theme for my blog and i moddified it. I hope, u will not problem with that.
    This template is really clean and sweet and have idea!

    http://www.ajvngou.cz/

  • ChefGaby September 30th, 2008 at 06:46 #

    Hi Ajvngou. Please don’t write designed by you. You can say modified by you, because the design is still made by me.

    The smile is a little creepy :)

  • Ajvngou September 30th, 2008 at 15:29 #

    ok man no problem (actually i though about it – just bad EN, no intention)

  • John Rigler October 29th, 2008 at 12:57 #

    I love dum-dum. I try other themes and just keep coming back.
    Great job.

  • Warren November 12th, 2008 at 19:49 #

    Hi there! Really love Dum-Dum, but I’ve noticed that when a commenter adds any URL, the linked text is white — which makes it unreadable against a white background; cf.

    http://indigestible.nightwares.com/2008/11/03/how-stupid-do-you-have-to-be-a-rhetorical-trifecta/#comments

    The first commenter there embedded a URL that’s turned the linked text white on a white background.

    I’ve pored over the files in the theme editor but can’t identify where the link colors are set for comments — can you point me in the right direction so I can change the colors?

    Thanks!

  • ChefGaby November 13th, 2008 at 05:13 #

    Warren, add this to the css:

    .commenttext a:link, .commenttext a:visited{
    color: #9A6A3A;
    }

  • Lau November 13th, 2008 at 07:17 #

    This theme is awesome, I’m using it on my blog ^__^

    Thanks for the great work

  • Maxi November 13th, 2008 at 11:52 #

    @GlamourGaby:
    Thank you so much for this fix! Now at last, please even the blockquotes in comments… ;)

  • Jane November 27th, 2008 at 23:16 #

    Thank you for this theme. It is so cute and perfect. I am new to blogging and don’t know any code or CSS but is there any way to add one more box to the sidebar? I’d like to add a box to some of my own links outside of my blog. Is there an easy way to to do this? can someone help walk a newbie through it? :)

  • ChefGaby November 27th, 2008 at 23:31 #

    Hello Jane. I’m glad you like my theme :D
    If you want to add another box to your sidebar then you need to first open the file sidebar.php
    Look for:
    </div> <!– SIDEBAR –>

    Above that add this:
    <div class=”box3″>
    <div class=”box3text”>
    <ul>
    <?php wp_list_bookmarks(); ?>
    </ul>
    </div> <!– BOX3 TEXT –>
    </div> <!– BOX3 –>

    Change the number 3 with 2 or 1 depending on what color you want.

    If you would of read the comments your would of seen that someone already asked the same question and they got the same answer :)

  • ChefGaby November 27th, 2008 at 23:33 #

    Oh, and instead of:
    <?php wp_list_bookmarks(); ?>
    You will put your own text.

  • Jane November 27th, 2008 at 23:42 #

    Wow! Thanks for the fast response! :)

    I was already able to get a fourth box by copying and pasting but I can’t seem to add the actual LINKS and TEXT into my box. I dont’ know how to do this.

  • ChefGaby November 27th, 2008 at 23:46 #

    A link looks like this:
    <a href=”URL”>TEXT</a>

    I can’t help you more than this :)

  • Jane November 27th, 2008 at 23:48 #

    :) That was much more simple then I thought. For some reason, I thought I had to make another file and have it be pulled like the “bookmarks”. Thank you :)

  • Lulu December 29th, 2008 at 22:39 #

    Hi Gaby

    We still have not been able to figure out why the weblog does not show the current posts, it’s only showing the august 08 posts – also is there any way to have the sidebar scroll with the post versus being located at the very end of the page as posts are added?

    Thanks! and Happy Holidays!

  • Maxi January 3rd, 2009 at 11:23 #

    Is it possible that the ›x Comments‹ link doesn’t works correctly? I come always with it at the top of the article page. Thank you for a little fix. ;)

  • ChefGaby January 3rd, 2009 at 18:49 #

    Hi Maxi.
    I see the link just fine. I see it at the bottom of an article.
    Can you send me a url where that links shows at the top of an article?

  • Maxi January 3rd, 2009 at 19:02 #

    Coulé – my fault. ;) The link “links” at the top of the article page, not the link *is* on the top. ;)
    I will not forwarded to the beginning of the comments area of the article page when I click on the “x Comments” link. Try this e.g. with your own demo site.

  • ChefGaby January 3rd, 2009 at 19:06 #

    Ohh, I think I see what you mean.
    open comments.php and then add in the first line this:
    <a name=”comments”></a>

    See if that works.

  • Maxi January 3rd, 2009 at 19:14 #

    Aaah, exactly that is it. Thx. =)

    And now, finaly even the blockquotes mark in the comments, that will be my highest pleasure. ;)

  • ChefGaby January 3rd, 2009 at 19:21 #

    Search for:
    .posttext blockquote {

    Replace with:
    .posttext blockquote, .commenttext blockquote {

  • Maxi January 3rd, 2009 at 19:28 #

    Wow, a further christmas, it works, many thanks!

  • Lulu January 4th, 2009 at 17:50 #

  • ChefGaby January 5th, 2009 at 07:58 #

    Lulu, I don’t know why your blog acts like that. Its definetly not from the theme.
    You must of done something.
    As for the sidebar, you can put another div under the sidebar one but above all the other content and put this for it:
    position: fixed;

  • Lea February 11th, 2009 at 10:56 #

    Hello Gaby,

    First, thank you for this theme, it is very cool! I am using it right now, but for some reason when I add a subpage to an already existing page the navigation menu on the index page looks all strange. I am really bad at explaining, but you may be able to reproduce the issue on the sample layout here. Please let me know if there is a way to fix that :)

  • Amanda February 11th, 2009 at 19:37 #

    Hi There,

    I love this theme. I admittedly don’t know much about this stuff. I haven’t added any plugins or anything like that. Since I started using Dum Dum none of my guests comments show up. It shows the following error.

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_avatar() in /home/tvtjzaaa/public_html/wp-content/themes/dum-dum/comments.php on line 27

    I can see the comments when I login into the admin page. Can you help with this ?

    Is it possible that an older version of WP would do this as I have not updated in a while ?

    Thanks.

  • ChefGaby February 11th, 2009 at 23:30 #

    @Lea
    Bonjour Lea :)
    Can you reproduce the problem on your blog and send me the link thru email so I can see what the problem is? Because I understand at the moment.

    @Amanda
    I think the problem is the fact that you didn’t upgrade to the latest wordpress version.
    Try to upgrade and tell me after that if that fixed it.
    You could install this plugin to upgrade faster:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/

  • Lea February 12th, 2009 at 03:13 #

    Sure, will do that… Sorry to bother you with that, but I completely suck at editing CSS (and I suppose the problem comes from that :p)

  • Kira March 25th, 2009 at 08:38 #

    I love your theme, it is so clean and organized! Thanks!
    Is there a way to have the pages in the top header have a drop down menu for the subpages (child pages)? Right now the sub pages show as pages.

    It is probably something basic, but I can’t figure it out! Thanks for your help!
    Kira

  • Christine July 14th, 2009 at 10:24 #

    Hi there, I love this theme and it is perfect for my blog (http://popdiscourse.com/). However, the one glitch is that the custom header appears on index.php but not if you click on a permalink or category archive.

    This code: is inserted properly at each Main Index Template, Page Template, and Single Post.

    Can you advise? I’d love to keep using this template but if I can’t get this sorted out I’ll probably (sadly!) have to find a template where the headers work on all pages.

    Thanks! -Christine

  • ChefGaby July 14th, 2009 at 13:22 #

    @Christine
    You just have a small error in your code.
    Open header.php and look for:
    images/popdiscourse_logo.jpg
    Replace that with the full url of the image which is:
    http://popdiscourse.com/images/popdiscourse_logo.jpg
    After this it will work.

  • Christine July 14th, 2009 at 14:13 #

    THANK YOU so much for your quick response – that did the trick!

    And thanks for the awesome template. :-)

  • Perfecta August 19th, 2009 at 03:58 #

    We’ve translated this theme into Polish.
    Download here.

  • Annie August 24th, 2009 at 17:07 #

    Hi! I’m having problems with the post count, it went from #1 to #64 for my 2nd post to #97 for my third post! Help! :)

  • ChefGaby August 24th, 2009 at 17:22 #

    The post number is actually the post ID from the wordpress database. So if you have lots of revisions to articles, or you create an article and then delete it, the numbers will not be in incremented order.

  • Maxi September 5th, 2009 at 13:26 #

    Please, can you tell me where in the CSS I can make the post’s layout wider? If that is not a too big thing… Thank you very much!

  • exiter September 29th, 2009 at 23:48 #

    Hi GlamourGaby
    I want to add more widget to sidebar .
    box1 can add only 2 ,box2 can add 1 and box3 can add 2 .
    Can you tell me how to do ..
    Thanks a lot …

  • Yves November 5th, 2009 at 16:53 #

    Hi, I’m using 1.4.1 and I’m not sure I understand why the text for the comment link in the comments.php is the date of the comment, isn’t it misleading? Why not something like the usual ‘permalink’?
    And you do not need to specify the date format, using the method with no parameters uses the format the user set in his wordpress settings.

  • Boson November 21st, 2009 at 04:53 #

    very nice theme, just one question, where can i change the width, i want contents box more wider, so pic won’t excess the edge..

    • ChefGaby November 21st, 2009 at 10:07 #

      I don’t offer support for people who remove the link in the footer.
      I hope you can understand the reason. Thanks.

  • Dave November 21st, 2009 at 23:46 #

    I love the bella theme.. It is the best WP theme out there!!! Well done!! I have two questions… First, how would I make the header title look like the big (blue) text on the sidebar and vice versa. Also, in the sample image, there is a yellow box with dotted line that houses some text. What is that and how do you set it up? Your help appreciated. Thanks!

  • Staci November 29th, 2009 at 10:00 #

    Love the theme! I tweaked it a little for my purposes, but I take no credit!

    For Boson, it’s possible to add some code to the stylesheet so large images will fit within the content parameters:

    img {max-width:100%;}

    works like a charm for me!

    I’m still working on tweaking the theme for my purposes, so if you stop by know that I’m still working on it.

    This will be my blog look for a while now, I’m pretty satisfied! Maybe one day I’ll be able to create my own templates but until then I’ll be happy to use and send people your way! Thanks!

  • Staci November 29th, 2009 at 10:04 #

    oh, forgot to write my question:

    As it stands, some of the text in the side boxes is defaulting to Times, and I don’t want it to. I’m seriously not a CSS guru so any help in this would be appreciated. I’m sure I’ll figure it out, but it might take me days, where for you it might be a simple answer.

    Thanks!

  • Jazili December 8th, 2009 at 09:20 #

    Love this theme very much, thanks.
    I had one question to ask, when I click the category section the sidebar not in line with the body, it fall down away to the bottom, how can I fix this…

    Thanks.

  • Brit January 21st, 2010 at 15:37 #

    How can I utilize drop down menus? When I add sub-pages it jumbles my main pages menu and shows some of the sub-pages as main pages.

    Love the theme!

  • Kira April 24th, 2010 at 14:58 #

    The comment field is not working on individual pages – for example, the downloads page. How can I make comments work on pages?

    • ChefGaby April 24th, 2010 at 18:46 #

      If you want the comment form to show up in the individual pages you have to delete the page.php file and then duplicate the file single.php and rename it as page.php

  • Samir July 28th, 2010 at 11:54 #

    Hi,

    We’re having issues with images displaying as centered. In the editor mode – they appear centered and are assigned to be centered but the published posts do not center images.
    Can you please help?

    Thanks,
    Samir Patel

    • ChefGaby July 28th, 2010 at 13:15 #

      @Samir
      Open your theme css file and at the very bottom of the file search for:
      .sidebar #s {
      Delete all css rules under that except for .sidebar #s {

  • Samir Patel July 28th, 2010 at 13:51 #

    That worked.

    Thank you,

    Samir Patel

  • Ajvngou November 27th, 2010 at 05:43 #

  • Lane Olenius January 30th, 2011 at 09:39 #

    I’m really loving the theme/design of your site. Do you ever run into any web browser compatibility problems? A number of my blog visitors have complained about my website not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Firefox. Do you have any advice to help fix this issue?

    • ChefGaby January 30th, 2011 at 14:50 #

      Lane, I checked the theme in IE and I don’t see any problems(except a small glitch with the top menu).
      But if you have friends using IE convert them to Firefox-ism :)

  • Julie June 3rd, 2011 at 07:30 #

    hey! i really love this theme! :)
    i am currently editing it to my preference and i am having some trouble. The mini icon besides the author’s name, i want to change it, how would i change it? since i can’t seem to figure out how :/

    • ChefGaby June 3rd, 2011 at 08:48 #

      Hello Julie,
      To change the author icon you must change this image: /wp-content/themes/dum-dum/images/img_19.jpg

  • Julie June 3rd, 2011 at 22:06 #

    thanks! but how would i change that image? since i’ve found where that image is located in the style.css but i have no clue how to change it.

  • Ajvngou June 4th, 2011 at 05:18 #

    U can overwrite it (just upload your new image – same size – instead of “img_19.jpg” with same name to same place. It has to do via FTP).

    If u dont want it there, just go to style.css, find “.postauthor” and delete. There few more ways how to delete, but this is simple)

  • ChefGaby June 4th, 2011 at 07:39 #

    Maybe I wasn’t too clear on the solution, but like Ajvngou said, you should login to the ftp of the blog, find the image in the directories(that is why I added the image url) and upload a new image with the same name.

  • Lyndsey June 28th, 2012 at 00:36 #

    LOVE this theme – love all of your themes!

    Question that I haven’t seen answered yet – is it possible to make the main content section wider? I’ve looked through the CSS files, but can’t find where that is set or how to modify it.

    Thanks!
    Lyndsey

    • Chef Gaby June 28th, 2012 at 23:17 #

      Hi Lyndsey,

      Changing the width of the article area is not that easy.
      First you will need to change the width from these two classes:
      .all {
      .content {

      Increase both sizes with an equal increment.

      Then you will need to resize the following images:
      wp-content/themes/dum-dum/images/img_08.jpg
      wp-content/themes/dum-dum/images/img_09.jpg
